Nancy Bastian

Biography:
Managing Partner Nancy Bastian has been with CBP and its predecessor studio since 1987. She was named an associate in 1990, partner in 2006, and managing partner in 2023. For over three decades, Nancy has led and grown the firm’s affordable housing practice while advancing work for institutional, market-rate, and educational clients and espousing an architectural philosophy that prioritizes quality regardless of project scope or budget. She’s both an empathetic designer who genuinely cares about the people for whom she’s designing and a vocal advocate for equitable and aspirational affordable housing. Nancy takes pride in the younger generation of architects who are keen to support this important work. Architecture has been the driving force in Nancy’s life since she decided in seventh grade to become an architect. She contributes and leads with enthusiasm, whether creatively strategizing a project’s potential, designing impactful buildings, overseeing firm administration, or engaging with professional organizations. Nancy co-chairs the Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations (PACDC) Fundraising Committee, serves as a vice chair of the Development Workshop, is a participant and former co-chair of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Philadelphia Housing Committee, and is a member of the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. Active with AIA Philadelphia, Nancy has served as a board member, as co-chair of the Housing Committee, and on the Women in Architecture Committee. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame. Nancy is NCARB certified and registered in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Florida. Member Directory  Arrow
