Cheryll Case

Founder and Executive Director
CP Planning
Biography:
Cheryll Case founded CP Planning (Community in Public) in 2017 to integrate human rights values into community planning. Founding the organization right out of her undergrad required her to overcome multiple barriers. Now, 6 years into her career, Cheryll's leadership in the co-design of neighbourhood, city, and nation-wide planning strategies to align for public, non-profit, and private sector organizations within the land development industry has raised millions of dollars for solutions that uphold the economic, social, and cultural rights of marginalized people to have access to good housing, good jobs, and an adequate standard of living. This includes her work supporting community-led planning in Toronto, Peel, Ottawa, as well as other Ontario municipalities with recent major investments in transit. She contributes to national policy processes via her role as Co-Chair of a Knowledge Mobilization Committee of the Canadian Housing Evidence Collaborative, and as a member of national efforts to establish solutions to barriers limiting the capacity of Black communities to build and own affordable housing.
