Dan Commer
Biography: Dan Commer is an urban planner and community development practitioner with experience guiding civic engagement, building organizational capacity, and leading the strategic visioning process through to project execution. Dan is an emerging thought-leader and social justice advocate who currently serves as Project Manager at Bridging Communities where he leads the nonprofit organization’s neighborhood stabilization and housing efforts. Fascinated by the built environment in the public realm of cities; his passion lies at the intersection of contributing to thoughtfully designed policy and strategy that facilitate community cohesion, while developing neighborhood connectivity. Dan Commer earned a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Michigan and Bachelor or Arts in Urban Studies from Wayne State University. Dan is a proud Detroiter and resides on the city’s East Side.
