Geoff Cape

Biography:
As the founder of Evergreen, Geoff has been CEO since inception in 1990. Under Geoff’s leadership, Evergreen, has grown to include over 210 staff and projects across Canada. Evergreen is focused on advancing the necessary innovations for low carbon, inclusive cities. This is delivered through a series of national challenge based programs including partnerships with the Federal government of Canada to support smart cities, and housing innovation. Evergreen has led the $100+ million redevelopment of the historic Brick Works property as an centre for future cities with 16 buildings and 41 acres of restored industrial lands in the heart of the city. Evergreen has supported over 7,100 projects across Canada. Geoff is a founding member of the World Entrepreneurship Forum , and a participant at the World Economic Forum, on the board of Sustainable Development Technology Canada. Geoff has been recognized as one of Canada’s “Top 40 under 40”, an Ashoka Fellow, winner of the Peter F. Drucker Award, and the Governor General’s “Golden Jubilee Medal” for significant contributions to the building of a fair and just Canadian society. Geoff was awarded “Social Entrepreneur of the Year” by the Schwab Foundation, Geneva Switzerland and in 2018 Geoff Cape was honored with the Order of Canada. Geoff attended Trinity College School, Queen’s University (Bachelor of Arts) and McGill University (Masters of Management). Geoff lives (and cycles daily) in Toronto with his wife Valerie Laflamme and their three boys, Thomas, Benjamin and Sebastien. Member Directory  Arrow
