Madeline Clappin
Biography: Madeline Clappin is a passionate advocate for a sustainable, accessible and affordable built environment. As Founding Partner and Strategic Director of Arketekcher, she is focused on the vitality of the practice, channeling her commitment to impactful design through her direction of business development, strategic planning, and community-oriented initiatives. Her entrepreneurial mindset has allowed her to approach the business side of the practice as a creative endeavor. With each task, she reflects the practice’s commitment to collaboration and producing successful work for clients and communities. Outside of Arketekcher, Madeline holds a number of professional affiliations and volunteer positions. She currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Urban Land Institute New York’s Young Leaders Group Communications Committee. She played an instrumental role in leading the Waterfront Initiative, a collaboration between AIA New York and New York City’s Department of City Planning focused on waterfront design advocacy and outreach. Additionally, Madeline was a member of the award-winning AIA Unified Task Force, which orchestrated architects’ nationwide response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Madeline is a graduate of New York University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Urban Design & Architecture, while also captaining the women’s soccer team.
