Aletha Dunston

Biography:
- I currently serve as the Director of Economic Development for the City of Indianapolis with Develop Indy, where we act as the front door to economic development for new projects, and manage business attraction, retention and expansion projects throughout the City. - Former Executive Director of the Fort Harrison Reuse Authority (FHRA), the organization tasked with the mixed-use redevelopment of the former military base into the cultural district known as ‘Fort Ben’ on the northeast side of Indianapolis IN - managing the area’s 800-acre TIF district and projects ranging from MF housing, historic redevelopment, placemaking, hotel and library projects - earning a prestigious Techpoint MIRA award for our branding efforts. - I also have experience managing the State of Indiana’s $28-million annual federal CDBG disbursement, serving as a statewide liaison to help 100+ communities access resources and plan for the future, active Main Street volunteer, grantwriter, adjunct professor and 8 years as an appointed planning and community development director. - Current State Chair of Indiana's ULI District Council - Proud graduate of the Ball State University College of Architecture and Planning - Passionate about creating great spaces, preserving great places, and continuing to support programs that move our City, State, and profession forward!
