Sara Disney Haufe

Biography:
Sara Disney Haufe offers nearly 20 years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning, leading hundreds of projects for clients in the private sector (including developers of all land use types) and public sector alike. This dual perspective equips her to better serve clients on both sides of the table, benefiting such projects as the Obama Presidential Center, The 1901 Project at the United Center arena, and the visionary, 700-acre Ivanhoe Village Traditional Neighborhood Development in far north suburban Chicagoland. Her expertise supports projects of all sizes, from a single affordable housing development, to master plans spanning hundreds of acres, to complex and innovative mixed-use districts, to special event venues and arenas. Both behind the scenes and in a community forum, she exhibits the ability to balance competing interests, communicate successfully with partners and stakeholders about complex technical issues, and develop multimodal solutions that are cohesive with adjacent land uses. Sara has been recognized by the Urban Land Institute Chicago District Council as their 2019 Young Visionary of the Year and by the Illinois Real Estate Journal as their 2023 Emerging Leader of the Year.
