Leonard Forkas
Biography: Len Forkas, Founder, Milestone Communications Inc. Mr. Forkas has 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur in both the real estate and wireless industries. He has raised over $100 million in equity and debt to fund Milestone’s growth since its formation in 2001 leading to the development of over 200 towers in the mid-Atlantic region. In 1996 Forkas formed Milestone Communities Inc., a Washington, DC based Development Company. Mr. Forkas held management positions at Bank of America, Weyerhaeuser Real Estate and Oxford Development. He has served on several industry and non-profit boards including the Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA), the YMCA of Metro DC, and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Forkas is a trustee and former chair of ULI Washington DC. Mr. Forkas is also the founder of Hopecam, Inc., a Reston, VA based non-profit that connects homebound children, undergoing treatment for cancer to their friends at school using webcam technology. Since 2002, Hopecam has connected over 1,500 children to 20,000 classmates in 47 states. He is a published author and leadership speaker. His book “What Spins the Wheel” has over 10,000 copies in circulation. Forkas has appeared on CNN, Fox & Friends, Sirius XM radio and DC affiliates of ABC, NBC & FOX. He received his MBA in finance from The American University and graduated from the College of Architecture at Ball State University.
