Biography: January 2004 Steven M. Friedman, CRE, FRICS Steven M. Friedman is the co-managing member of Friedman Advisors, LLC, a real estate consulting firm focused on single- and multifamily real estate. Steve's areas of expertise include strategy, M&A, transaction advice and capital formation. Previously, Steve was the CFO of a privately held real estate investment and development company. Steve spent more than 25 years as a partner in the real estate practice of Ernst & Young LLP. The grandson in a family of general and subcontractors, Steve was the firm's America's Director of Homebuilding. He has more that 3 decades of experience in advising publicly and privately held single family and multifamily residential real estate development, construction, management and investment clients. Background. Steve's principal areas of expertise include the structuring of transactions, restructurings, and cross-border and multinational real estate investment and finance. He is nationally recognized as an expert in the taxation of real estate and construction, partnerships and joint ventures. Steve's clients include publicly held and multinational enterprises involved in single and multifamily home building, real estate ownership, development, construction, operation, management and finance. His clients include more than 20 publicly held companies. Steve serves on the boards of directors of 3 privately held regional development and homebuilding companies. Steve is a graduate of Georgetown University and the Fordham University School of Law. He is a member of the Counselors of Real Estate and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
