Laura Guzman

Biography: Laura is Vice President of Marketing & Communications for XL Construction, a leading San Francisco Bay Area contractor specializing in corporate office, life sciences, advanced technology, civic, healthcare, and education projects. A marketing, operations and business development professional, Laura has spent the last 16 years of her career in the AEC industry, working at architecture, engineering and construction organizations, as well as a BIM technology consultancy. She is an active member of the ULI and facilitator for ULI San Francisco's UrbanPlan for Communities program, which she was instrumental in bringing to the Bay Area. In her spare time, Laura co-manages The Bookmark Bookstore, an Oakland-based non-profit dedicated to supporting the Oakland Public Library, and is in the process of opening her own bookstore & wine cafe business in Berkeley, CA. She speaks and authors articles on topics including customer experience mapping, employee engagement, and marketing best practices. She holds a BS and MBA from Cornell University.
