Sara Greenwood

Biography:
Sara Greenwood, LEED-AP BD+C, LEED-Fellow, WELL-AP, WELL Faculty Ms. Greenwood is a sustainability consultant with over 18 years of experience. Her expertise and insight into emerging green building practices and technologies provide a unique perspective for clients pursuing green building certification and sustainable business initiatives. Her demonstrated experience in sustainable program development and management helps to guide project teams through strategic planning, documentation, and certification processes. Ms. Greenwood has managed the green and healthy building certification for over 54 million square feet of space. Project experience includes building types such as stadiums, airports, zoo/aquariums, multifamily residential, commercial offices, retail, hospitality, K-12, higher education facilities, healthcare, logistics parks, and government buildings. She has supported the US Green Building Council to inform updates to the last two versions of the LEED rating system, participated on the LEED Steering Committee, LEED Advisory Committee, and served as one of a few LEED project reviewers for GBCI. Ms. Greenwood is recognized as a LEED Fellow, the highest professional status for LEED. She also serves on the WELL Advisory Committee and is WELL Faculty. She has strong experience in several green building rating systems on has worked on projects nationwide. Ms. Greenwood is passionate about improving the health and lifestyle of building occupants and supporting developers to achieve their performance goals. She has presented on green and healthy building topics to professionals nationwide. Greenwood Consulting Group was established when Ms. Greenwood moved to Kansas City from California in 2012. Her firm consults on certification and ESG reporting projects nationwide. GCG is a Women’s Owned Business and demonstrates strong leadership in the green building industry.
