William Grubbs
Biography: Summer 2024. Bill joined McWhinney as Chief Investment Officer based in Denver in August 2024. Previously, Bill was with Invesco Real Estate for 19 years, and served as Chief Investment Officer, Head of US Funds Management and Lead Portfolio Manager for Invesco Core Real Estate - U.S.A., Invesco's flagship open-end core commingled fund, a diversified U.S. fund with over $18 billion in gross assets. Bill also served as a member of the firms Management Committee, and was Chairman of the Investment Committee. Accomplishments included launching Invesco’s flagship fund, and growing it from $350M in gross assets to $18B. Prior to joining Invesco, Bi was with the investment firm of Bailard, in Foster City, California, where he served for six years as the President and Chief Operating Officer of the Bailard Real Estate Investment Trust (BB&K REIT), an open-end commingled private real estate equity fund with a national value added acquisition strategy. Prior to joining Bailard, Bill held various positions in real estate development, portfolio management and finance with Prudential located in San Francisco. Accomplishments included the restructuring of various joint venture and borrowing relationships and the restructuring of large land development projects. Bill received a Master of Business Administration with distinction from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University. Prior to Graduate School, Bill served on the staff of US Senator William Armstrong as well as being aConsultant with Deloitte & Touche. He is a member of Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), a full member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and has served as an Executive in Residence at the Real Estate Center at the Georgetown University Graduate Business School.
