Bruce Hazzard

Biography:
Bruce Hazzard, ASLA, AIA, CSI, ULI, LEED AP Asheville, North Carolina Bruce Hazzard has over 30 years of design, planning, management and construction experience with a focus on conservation-based land use and environmental planning in sensitive sites. Mr. Hazzard owns and directs Design Management, LLC a collaborative group of entrepreneurs associated with development, design and construction who provide consulting to smaller development companies, public entities and individual clientele. He also is Vice-President of Development for Real Capital Solutions LLC, based on Colorado and manages all of their real estate development investments. His prior work history and focus was within DPS Development understanding the natural ecosystems of the land and finding a balance of the environmental, financial, artistic and primary design direction for all community issues for any proposed development scenario as it relates to the specific site constraints of their private sporting clubs. Hazzard also managed all outside planning and design consultants during the initial stages of project development. Formerly a Partner in Design Workshop, a 160-person internationally-recognized, environmental/ resort planning and landscape architecture firm in Asheville, North Carolina, he has been involved as a primary design leader on a variety of resort and new community projects over the world with a cumulative construction value in excess of $1 billion dollars (US). He has managed the development of major, initial design direction and concepts for planning, design and entitlement processes for such projects as the Little Nell Hotel in Aspen, Colorado, ski villages at Snowmass @ Aspen, and Blackcomb @ Whistler, British Columbia. He has successfully been involved in the planning and design of such notable resorts as the Maroon Creek Club and Spa @ Aspen, Roaring fork Club @ Aspen, Sunterra Resort in Palm Desert, and the Inn on Biltmore Estate in Asheville. Hazzard, while a Partner in a planning and development company in Texas, worked on and was the primary design lead on a number of completed multiple Class-A office developments for such notable companies as Trammel Crow, Lincoln Properties and Hines Interests. He also currently sits on advisory boards for the University of Texas @ Arlington and the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. He is currently involved in the design, planning and management of the Snake River Sporting Club in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, the Turks and Caicos Sporting Club in the Caribbean and the Greenbrier Sporting Club in West Virginia.
