Claire Hempel

Biography: Claire Hempel is a seasoned planner and landscape architect, having been set up for a fulfilling career since her graduation as a proud LSU Tiger in 2002. With a passion for creating vibrant and sustainable spaces, she spearheads a diverse array of projects spanning streetscapes, community planning, and urban design. Her expertise extends across both local and international landscapes, where she has led the development of urban and regional parks, comprehensive community, and environmental planning initiatives throughout Texas and the US. Claire is deeply committed to fostering public engagement and empowering communities, equipping them with the necessary tools to achieve their environmental, economic, and collective aspirations. Beyond her professional endeavors, she dedicates her time to serving as Chair of the Austin Planning Commission, and local organizations focused on enhancing the quality of life in the Austin region, including The Trail Conservancy.
