David Hamilton
Biography: David Hamilton has been responsible for innovative real estate development and construction at a variety of scales and project types. As Design Director of Cambridge Innovation Center, he helped create an important model for startup business incubation spaces. As a Principal of Qroe Farm Preservation Development, he led planning, approvals and construction of Bundoran Farm, a key precedent for privately-funded conservation development. He has since consulted widely on the economics of agricultural preservation within for-profit residential development. Currently, as Chief Operating Officer of Geobarns, LLC, he has directed the construction of over 100 built projects in North America, employing an innovative hybrid timber frame to offer an ecologically responsible and flexible alternative to conventional home and light-commercial framing techniques. He contributes to professional debates and publishes on the topic of sustainability in development and design practice, including Professional Real Estate Development, and International Approaches to Real Estate Development, both co-authored with Richard Peiser. He holds degrees from Middlebury College and Harvard's Graduate School of Design, where he has taught introductory and advanced courses in real estate and planning.
