Gordon Harris

Biography: Gordon Harris is the principal of Urban Land Advisors Inc., a Toronto-based planning consultancy focused on the responsible use of public lands. Gordon is an urban planner, development advisor, and real estate strategist. As president and chief executive officer of SFU Community Trust from 2007 to 2020 he led the planning and development of UniverCity, Simon Fraser University’s award-winning sustainable low-carbon community on the SFU campus near Vancouver, BC. Through Urban Land Advisors, Harris provides high level strategic planning and development advice to public sector clients across Canada and internationally. Gordon is a Fellow of both the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, as well as a former member of the National Capital Commission's Advisory Committee on Planning, Design, and Realty. In 2012, he received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his lifetime contribution to community building in Canada.
