Gregory Hummel
Biography: Gregory W. Hummel is a partner in Bryan Cave's Real Estate Private Equity and REIT group. His practice is principally concentrated in public-private partnership matters. In serving as legal counsel to some of the nation's largest banks, insurance companies, construction companies and real estate developers, he has represented major mixed-use developerfs in all facets of acquisitions, zoning, construction, financing, leasing and management of mixed-use skyscrapers, including office, commercial, residential, and parking uses. He has represented major shopping center developers and a number of the country's leading retailers in all aspects of retail development. He has also represented large design/ builders in major public work projects including The Harold Washington Library Center (the world's largest municipal library). He has also acted as bond counsel or underwriter's counsel in transactions involving residential and commercial real estate transactions. Mr. Hummel has been an active participant and leader in local, national and international industry and professional organizations including being former Trustee of the Urban Land Institute, Governor of the Urban Land Institute Foundation, Chairman of the Chicago Central Area Committee; Board Member of the Illinois Tax Increment, former Chairman of the Urban Land Chicago District Council, former Co-Chair of the International Bar Association Committee T on International Construction Projects; and Past President of the American College of Construction Lawyers.
