Gregory Hummel
Biography: Greg Hummel is the Chairman of the Chicago Central Area Committee since 2012. In that role , I leverage over four decade of experience in legal practice, specializing in real estate development, finance, and public-private partnerships. My mission is to drive strategic redevelopment initiatives that benefit government entities and businesses alike, ensuring sustainable growth and economic vitality for the Chicago metropolitan region. In addition I am active as a ULI Trustee, ULI Foundation Governor and ULI Key Leader. I also serve as the Chairman of the Homes for Children Foundation who supports one of Illinois' oldest child welfare organizations, Kids Above All. I also lead Immanuel Lutheran Church's Music Outreach Endowment that supports organ scholars early in their careers in their pursuit of positions as organists at many US churches, cathedrals and universities. My tenure as an equity partner at firms that were part of DLA, K+L Gates and Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP helped me create ppp-law, my own law firm focused on a public private partnership practice where I help clients undertake transit and rail oriented development, adaptive reuses, brownfield redevelopment, urban and suburban mixed use projects involving a range of residential, hotel, office and retail uses and other projects by helping them obtain public and private equity and debt utilizing an array of federal, state and local programs, tax credits and lower cost financial instruments.
