James Harris

Biography: James R. Harris, (Jim) is a partner in James R. Harris Partners, LLC, a firm engaged in land development and real estate investments, a partner in Village Homes, a custom home building company specializing in urban and infill sites, and HF Management, a company that invests in, builds and upgrades industrial buildings for retail and commercial uses. Since 1979 the Harris companies have been developing quality residential neighborhoods and master-planned communities for over 60,000 homes in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin areas, as well as owning and managing office and other commercial buildings in Fort Worth. Professional memberships include: Greater Fort W orth, Texas and National Association of Homebuilders; Fort W orth Board of Realtors, National Association of Realtors and the Society of Commercial Realtors; the Urban Land Institute (ULI), ULI North Texas District Council, and as a Builder Member of the Urban Land Foundation. Local community involvement includes serving as a member of numerous community boards and committees concerning Fort Worth City zoning and development policies and the Mayor’s Task Force for Affordable Housing. Additional civic memberships have included Vice- Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Fort Worth Housing Authority and Chairman of the Board of Trinity Terrace, a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Fort Worth. Harris has served on several local bank boards and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of First Texas BHC, Inc. and Southwest Bank. Harris received a B.A. degree from Austin College and earned an M.B.A. from Texas Christian University. He and his wife of 44 years, Mary Ann, live in Fort Worth and Snowmass Village, CO.
