Kenneth Hughes
Biography: Ken Hughes has been a member of ULI since 1973 and was Chairman of the CRC Gold Council in the late 1980's. He is a past Trustee and currently a Governor of ULI. He has been in the development business with his own company, Hughes Development, LP since 1983 and has largely specialized in urban mixed-use developments. Probably the best known project has been Mockingbird Station in Dallas, the first TOD in Texas. Hughes currently has more than $100 million under development that includes urban townhouses, condominiums, multi-family rental housing, office and specialty retail. He has redeveloped and owns The Kirby Building in downtown Dallas. It is on the National Register and is one of the best preserved early 20th Century high rise buildings in the state. Among the numerous design and development awards the firm has received is the ULI Award for Excellence in 2006 for Mockingbird Station. Others include local, state and national AIA and American Society of Landscape Designers awards and Preservation Dallas.
