Kevin Hsu

Biography:
I am a sustainable development professional with experience on both sides of the Pacific Ocean. In Singapore, I led the Resilience/Sustainability research cluster at the Centre for Liveable Cities, and worked on sustainability planning at the Urban Redevelopment Authority, the nation’s land use planning and conservation agency. Previously, I managed projects on clean energy, sustainable districts, and infrastructure development at The Walt Disney Company. As a member of the ULI community, I served as the head of the ULI YLG in Shanghai, helped spearhead ULI Hong Kong’s efforts on public-oriented waterfront redevelopment, and was tapped as a member of the ULI advisory services panel advising on heritage conservation in Beijing. Since 2014, I have taught courses at Stanford University in the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (also called the d.school) and in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering (focused on energy, climate and the built environment). Recently, I returned to pursue PhD studies at MIT’s Department of Urban Studies and Planning, where I focus on equitable and resilient infrastructure implementation in responding to the challenge of climate change.
