Andrew Joyner
Biography: Tricon is residential real estate company with a primary focus on rental housing across North America. Tricon has $16 billion of assets under management invested across three platforms – multifamily apartments, single-family rental homes, and for-sale housing. Tricon manages permanent capital on behalf of pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and institutional investors. Since its inception in 1988, Tricon has made investments in residential real estate valued at approximately $33 billion. Andrew heads up Tricon’s Canadian multifamily apartment platform, which is focused on developing, owning, and managing the leading portfolio of Class A purpose-built rental apartments in the Greater Toronto Area. He is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day divisional operations, with a focus on strategy, transactions, financing, joint-venture partnerships / structuring, corporate growth initiatives, and overall asset management. Prior to joining Tricon in 2016, Mr. Joyner worked at CPP Investment Board (CPPIB) in Toronto with a focus on real estate investments throughout North America. Previously, Mr. Joyner worked at Hines in London, U.K where he was responsible for acquisitions in Western Europe, and worked in investment banking at Goldman Sachs in New York. Mr. Joyner holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia University, an undergraduate degree in Economics from Queen’s University, from both of which he graduated with Distinction, and is a CFA Charterholder.
