Anish Kumar
Biography: As Vice Chancellor for Real Estate, I am responsible for leading Pitt’s Office of Real Estate to provide foundational strength in real estate business management and services for the advancement of the University’s mission. The Office is responsible for real property leasing, acquisition, disposition, and partnership initiatives to meet core needs, enhance campus edges, support community and economic development, and grow commercial revenue from the University’s real estate portfolio. Prior to Pitt, I oversaw the strategic direction and activities at the University of Pennsylvania’s Pennovation Works campus, including real estate planning, development, leasing and programming for the 23-acre lab, office and production space. Prior to Penn, I led Amtrak’s Real Estate Development department, managing the company’s property rights with over 2,000 real property agreements and over 4,000 access agreements in place nationwide. I am a licensed architect and planner, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from CEPT University in Ahmedabad, India and Master’s Degree in Architecture with a Certificate in Urban Design from the University of Pennsylvania.
