Brian Kavoogian

Biography:
Brian Kavoogian is Managing Partner of National Development, one of metropolitan Boston’s largest real estate operating companies. The firm has successfully acquired and/or developed over $10 billion of commercial real estate and is currently investing its $500 million fully discretionary Fund 5. National Development invests in well-located commercial real estate in which value can be created at the property level through the repositioning and redevelopment of under-performing, under-managed and/or under-capitalized real estate as well as selective ground-up development throughout New England, with a particular focus on the Boston metropolitan area. The firm invests across the product type spectrum including office, multi-family, industrial, life science, health care, seniors housing and hospitality-related properties. Our investors consist primarily of endowments, foundations, pension funds, and family offices. Brian is involved with a number of civic, charitable and industry-related organizations. He is the co-chair of the Boston ULI Advisory Board, and a past chairman of both of the region’s real estate trade organizations, the Greater Boston Real Estate Board and NAIOP Massachusetts, where he remains on the Board of Directors. In 2015, he was appointed by Governor Charlie Baker to the board of the Massachusetts Development Finance Agency where he serves as the Vice Chair. Brian is the chairman of Tufts Medical Center and a member of the board of Tufts Medicine. He is a Trustee Emeritus of Tufts University, the past Co-Chairman of Heading Home, one of the region’s largest social service agencies focused on homelessness and the past Vice Chairman of the Greater Boston YMCA.
