Biography:
April 2007 DAN KELLY SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT GOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS & CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS RANCHO MISSION VIEJO Dan Kelly is the Senior Vice President of Governmental Relations & Corporate Communications for Rancho Mission Viejo, L.L.C., managers of the 23,000-acre Rancho Mission Viejo (Orange County's second largest privately-owned land holding) and master planners of the 4,000-acre Ladera Ranch community and the 23,000-acre "Ranch Plan". Since 1986, Mr. Kelly has been responsible for interfacing with various local and regional jurisdictions and other pertinent groups that have authority over or interests in the Rancho Mission Viejo, including the Ranch's planned communities of Rancho Santa Margarita (5,000 acres), Las Flores (1,000 acres) and Ladera Ranch (4,000 acres). He has played a leadership role in the development of the recently approved "Ranch Plan" which is a comprehensive plan for the remainder of Rancho Mission Viejo. Mr. Kelly is responsible for the master planning of major community infrastructure including schools, libraries, technology, and other vital facilities and services. In addition, Mr. Kelly is responsible for overseeing Rancho Mission Viejo's community marketing, public affairs, governmental relations, and community outreach programs. Prior to joining Rancho Mission Viejo, L.L.C., Mr. Kelly was Director/Environmental Planning for Michael Brandman & Associates in Costa Mesa. Mr. Kelly also served as the Senior Environmental Planner for Mission Viejo Company. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Kelly was educated at Columbia College in Chicago, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and Communications. Mr. Kelly's involvements in a variety of professional and community efforts include the Urban Land Institute, Board Member of the Orange County Business Council, and the Board of Directors of the Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center Foundation.
