David Kaneda

Biography: David Kaneda is a leading innovator in the design of high performance, deep green buildings, and has been the Electrical Engineering Principal for dozens of LEED Platinum, AIA COTE Top 10, Net Zero Energy (NZE), Well Building and Living Building Challenge projects, including the first NZE commercial office in the United States. His experience includes over three decades working in the building industry in North America and Europe. He is a Professional Engineer, a Fellow in both the AIA and USGBC, a UK Chartered Engineer and European Engineer. He holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from Penn State and an MBA from the London Business School. David’s specialties include NZE building design, sustainable electrical engineering, plug load reduction, lighting, daylighting, smart buildings, renewables and microgrids. He has presented over 100 times regionally nationally and internationally on sustainable engineering issues.
