William Lyons
Biography: Mr. William F. Lyons Jr. is the Founder, President, & CEO of Fort Hill Companies LLC. Bill has more than thirty years of experience in consulting, law, academia, government, and technology. He serves as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on sustainability, mobility, and real estate matters. Fort Hill has provided professional services to a wide array of public and private sector clients across the globe and throughout the United States, with a portfolio of projects in twenty-one countries on five continents, for clients such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and the special operations community. Bill's local practice includes some of the most iconic projects in Greater Boston, with an emphasis on sustainability consulting, civil engineering, and new urban mobility in the Seaport District. As an attorney, Bill was previously affiliated with the Boston law firm of Burns & Levinson LLP, where he was a member of the real estate and construction department. In this capacity, Bill advised clients on emerging deal structures for transportation and infrastructure projects involving public-private-partnerships (P3s). Bill advised municipalities and land developers on the process of procuring and executing P3 projects. He was also a key member of the firm's government relations team, especially with regard to representing clients before MassDOT. Before joining Burns & Levinson, Bill served as a Legislative Fellow in the Massachusetts House of Representatives Committee on Transportation, where he played a role in the drafting of transportation reform legislation in the 2008-2010 session. Bill is also the Director of the Center for Global Resiliency and Security at Norwich University, Northfield, Vermont.
