Alex Macias

Biography: Alex Macias is the Community Development Manager at Conexión Américas, where he leads a coalition of partners in the placemaking project Envision Nolensville Pike. The project’s mission is to build civic participation to collectively transform Nashville’s international corridor from a congested arterial into a thriving “main street” through artistic interventions while promoting equitable development. As a Nashville native, Alex has seen Nashville’s tremendous growth first hand and believes a multi-modal transit system is key not only for community members to access economic opportunities but also to improve health disparities and social connectivity. Alex holds a BA in International and Global Studies from the University of the South and is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer.
