Kathleen McCormick
Biography: Kathleen McCormick, principal of Fountainhead Communications in Boulder, Colorado, is a writer and editor focused on healthy, sustainable, and resilient communities. Her work for the Urban Land Institute includes many articles for Urban Land about transit-oriented and mixed-use development, affordable housing, and healthy and sustainable buildings, as well as advisory panel reports, and publications such as The Business Case for Healthy Buildings, Returns on Resilience: The Business Case, and Intersections: Health and the Built Environment. She is a contributing editor for Land Lines, published by the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, on topics such as infill development and planning for social equity. She has written for the Sonoran Institute on planning for climate change. As a freelance writer, she has published articles in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Governing, and Planning. She has produced master plans, design guides, and reports for federal and municipal agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private clients. She was co-editor of Charter of the New Urbanism, published by McGraw-Hill and the Congress for the New Urbanism.
