Biography:
Mike is a Principal in Ernst & Young’s Real Estate and Hospitality Advisory Group based in New York City. Mike has close to 20 years of experience in the real estate and finance industry. Prior to his 16 years at EY, Mike was a Senior Consultant in Arthur Andersen’s business consulting practice. His experience entails working with owners, investors, developers and operators of real estate who want to grow and improve upon their business platforms. Mike will typically help create and refine operating platforms, business processes, internal controls, investment strategies, and go-to market strategies. Mike will also assist in advising on the appropriate digital and technology solutions to support growth initiatives. Mike has led a number of tourism strategy engagements for domestic and international destinations; engagement tasks typically include analysis of tourism infrastructure, market demand characteristics and drivers, strategy recommendations, and competitive analysis. Mike recently led an EY team engaged to advise on the spin-off of Bermuda’s department of tourism from government and the formation of a new public-private enterprise responsible for enhancing tourism. The engagement included developing a transition plan as well as a strategic vision, a year one business plan, organization design, staffing model, and a corporate governance charter for the new Bermuda Tourism Authority. Mike also recently completed a strategic tourism initiative for the city of Cleveland, developing their 3 year strategic plan. Mike has performed similar engagements in Savannah, GA and Miami, FL. Mike earned his MS in Real Estate Finance and Development from New York University and his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia. Member Directory  Arrow
