Sharmil Modi

Biography:
Sharmil Modi is a cofounder and Principal of The East Cambridge Company, an owner, operator, and developer of commercial property in the greater Boston area. Previously, he was a Principal at The Baupost Group, a $30BB investment firm, where he focused on real estate equity and distressed debt investments in the United States and Asia for 10 years. Prior to Baupost, Sharmil worked at Grove International Partners, GTCR Golder Rauner, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Company/Capstone, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, and McKinsey & Company. Sharmil graduated from Harvard College with a degree in Economics and received an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. He is a Trustee of ULI and a member of its America's Executive Committee.
