Christian Nielsen

Biography: Christian Nyerup Nielsen is Global Director for Water Infrastructure and Climate Adaptation in Ramboll. Nielsen is an international leading expert in integrated planning and urban resilience projects from planning to implementation. Nielsen has extensive international experience with management of projects in all scales of urban development and resiliency, including multifunctional and nature-based solutions in an urban context. Nielsen’s expertise in the field of combining urban infrastructure and climate adaptation from idea to detailed design has been developed and implemented on numerous projects on a global scale from masterplans in Copenhagen and Gothenburg to Cloudburst Pilot in New York City, and Washington D.C. Further, Nielsen has worked on resilience projects in Singapore and other major cities throughout South-East Asia. Christian Nyerup Nielsen is heading the Global Division for Integrated Infrastructure, Climate Resilience and Urban transformation with offices in the Nordics, US, Romania, Australia and Singapore. In parallel, Christian has served as Director of Ramboll’s Liveable Cities Lab.
