Biography:
DHN Development envisions and creates places that breathe life back into our urban fabric. By listening and connecting with people who want to combine community with modern living, we design and build unique, innovative places where people live, connect and come together to make things happen. Founder and President Darsey Nicklasson first developed Blue Dot Place in downtown Colorado Springs in 2016. Blue Dot Place is a mixed-use development with 33-apartments and 3 commercial spaces. Blue Dot Place was the first residential development in downtown Colorado Springs since the 1960s. Blue Dot Place was a Colorado Urban Land Institute Impact Award 2017 nominee and is an Urban Land Institute case study on in-fill development. Blue Dot Place sold in 2020 for $13 million or $393,000 per unit. (breaking the previously set record sale of $251,000 per unit). In 2020 DHN Development completed and stabilized Casa Mundi (27-apartment and 3 commercial spaces) also located in downtown Colorado Springs. Casa Mundi sold in 2021 for $12.8 million or $474,000 per unit (another record breaking sale). Nicklasson’s firm, Places Management, LLC, continues to manage Casa Mundi with a focus on community and a highly personalized management style. Departing from Downtown Colorado Springs Nicklasson recently broke ground on a two new projects (Mosaica - 223 units and Kaleidos - 150 units) located in SE Colorado Springs. Both projects mission-drive projects aimed at providing attainable housing oriented towards families. Nicklasson is also the mother of 3 school age children.
