Thomas Neary
Biography: Thomas Neary earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies from the University of Nebraska in 1982, focusing on in-fill housing design standards and the adaptive reuse of older urban industrial and commercial structures for residential and mixed-use. Following a brief tour with the U.S. Peace Corps in Latin America, Tom has spent the past 35 years of his career working in real estate planning, design and construction in both the public and private sectors. He has been primarily involved in institutional and residential development, including award-winning preservation projects. Tom is a member of the Advisory Board for the Urban Land Institute's Los Angeles District Council, a Board member of The People Concern of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Headquarters Association, the Southern California Development Forum, a former Trustee, Treasurer and Board President for the California Preservation Foundation; Past President of the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity - San Fernando Valley Chapter, Founding Board Member and Treasurer of the US Green Building Council - Los Angeles Chapter, and Past President of the Society for Marketing Professional Services - Los Angeles Chapter.
