Michael O'Shaughnessy

Biography:
April 2011 Michael O’Shaughnessy is currently a Managing Director at Northwood Investors in New York, working on asset management for the company’s real estate investment funds. Prior to April 2011, Mr. O'Shaughnessywas the head of North American investments and portfolio manager for the UBS Wealth Management - North American Property Fund, a multi-asset class investment fund serving UBS's private wealth management clients. The fund had 125 individual investments in senior living, multifamily, office, industrial and retail properties with a gross value of $6 billion. The fund invested through 7 investment partners or advisors. Mr. O'Shaughnessy was an Executive Director with New York office of UBS AG and had been at the firm since 2006. Prior to joining UBS, Mr. O'Shaughnessy was with Investcorp International, overseeing asset management for 4 fund vehicles which included investments in senior housing, office, storage, multifamily and industrial properties. He joined Investcorp's New York office in 2004. Previously, Mr. O'Shaughnessy spent 6 years with Transwestern Investment Company in Chicago, working on acquisitions and asset management for the firm. He was responsible for a portion of the fund’s investments in office and industrial properties, including directing the development, disposition and refinancing of several of the properties. In addition, he set up the asset management function at Hometown America, a fund company owned by Transwestern that invested in manufactured home communities across the US. Mr. O'Shaughnessy was a Vice President at both Transwestern and Hometown America. Mr. O'Shaughnessy started his career at LaSalle Partners in Chicago in 1994, working as an analyst in both the valuation and tenant representation groups.
