David Perlman

Biography:
David Perlman brings over 20 years of real estate experience with a diverse skill set and knowledge base, having participated in more than $10B in debt and equity transactions over his career. Prior to relocating to New Zealand during the first quarter of 2025, David was Managing Director of Capital Markets and Originations and the Head of the New York Thorofare office. Previously, David co-led the Floating-Rate Balance Sheet Desk at Natixis and served in originations, credit, and syndication roles. There he focused on loans up to $2B in size and across the risk spectrum, from stabilized Class A assets to construction loans in strong secondary markets. He also would syndicate, on average, a $1B of notes to market participants annually. Prior to Natixis, Perlman spent 7 years at Brickman, a real estate private equity firm, where he closed both high yield debt and equity transactions throughout the US. During his time at Brickman, he purchased numerous office, hotel, multifamily, and retail properties, asset managed those assets, and disposed of them, when necessary. Further, David sourced numerous note sales during the Great Financial Crisis, working out many of those opportunities to maximize returns. He was also active in subordinate debt origination as the risk level changed when the market was declining. David began his career with Citigroup Property Investors on their high-yield debt team, investing in the b-pieces of CMBS transactions and also at Fitch Ratings, rating CMBS deals. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and is the Vice Chairman of CRC Silver, a retail product council.
