February 2020 Elizabeth M. Ptacek Liz Ptacek has worked in real estate market research for over 20 years, building a broad base of knowledge across markets, property types, and land uses. Liz joined CoStar Group as a Director of Market Analytics in December 2018, covering multiple major markets in the Great Lakes region. In this role, Liz is responsible for all relevant market reports and video content featured in the CoStar product, as well as market presentations to clients and the broader real estate community. Prior to Costar, Ms. Ptacek was the Senior Credit Portfolio Executive for Real Estate and Head of Research for KeyBank. Liz built Key’s first real estate market research group, developed proprietary market views for the residential and commercial markets, and produced the KeyBank Macroeconomic View. As the Senior Credit Portfolio Executive, Liz worked with her partners in credit and the line of business to manage and mitigate concentration risk in the portfolio. Before joining KeyBank, Liz spent 8 years with PNC Bank in the real estate market research group, an internal consulting group that focuses on the market risks associated with PNC’s real estate finance transactions. At PNC Liz was frequently involved in special research reports, focused on different trends in real estate, which were distributed across the bank and externally through various media outlets. Ms. Ptacek began her career in real estate at Economics Research Associates, one of the premier consulting practices in the U.S. at that time. Working out of the Washington, DC office, Liz worked on a variety of assignments, including tax impact studies for civic and convention centers, equestrian center feasibility analyses, and state fair master plans. Liz is a full member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and founding member of the ULI Real Estate Research Forum.
