James Porter

Biography: Active in all aspects of architecture at Altoon + Porter Architects, James Porter had primary responsibility for general management and project management for the Asia/China practice. He established offices for A+P in Moscow, Amsterdam, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai. His 45 years of experience includes: large mixed use projects, retail complexes , historic restoration, performing arts facilities, hotels, high rise housing and office buildings. He was Co-Managing Partner at Charles Kober Associates, and was responsible for establishing and managing CKA's Hawaii office. He is actively involved with the Urban Land Institute where he is a member of the Urban Development Mixed-use Council, the International Council of Shopping Centers, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Los Angeles Headquarters City Association, Los Angeles Management Association, Los Angeles Business Council, Los Angeles Central City Association, The USC Architectural Guild, Society of Marketing Professional Services where he served as a member of the Board, and the American Institute of Architects. Mr. Porter has a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California.
