Penny Pritzker
Biography: May, 2004 Penny Pritzker is founder and Chairman of Classic Residence by Hyatt, the senior living affiliate of Hyatt Corporation. Classic Residence by Hyatt currently owns, manages, and operates 17 luxury retirement communities in 10 states nationwide, plus one community under development. Pritzker also serves as President of Pritzker Realty Group, L.P., overseeing all of the Pritzker family's non-hotel real estate investments. Pritzker Realty Group manages a diverse portfolio of assets across the United States, including land developments, industrial parks, apartments, offices, and off-airport parking. In addition, she serves on the boards of Hyatt Corporation with 122 hotels in the US, Canada and Caribbean and Hyatt International Corporation, with 87 hotels in 40 countries, the William Wrigley Jr. Co., which is active in 150 countries and where she is Chairman of the Corporate Governance Committee, and Marmon Holdings, Inc., a conglomerate of more than 100 member companies active in forty countries throughout the world, where she is Vice Chairman. Pritzker is a member of the Executive Committees of the Real Estate Roundtable and the Economic Club of Chicago, and a member of the Commercial Club of Chicago. She is a life trustee and past Chairman of the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art, a member of the board of trustees of the Young Women's Leadership Charter School, a member of the Executive Committee of the Chicago Public Education Fund and was recently elected to the Harvard Board of Overseers. Pritzker earned her bachelor's degree in economics from Harvard University and J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from Stanford University. Admitted to the Illinois bar in 1985, she is a partner in the Chicago law firm of Pritzker and Pritzker.
