Biography:
Bio – R. Steve Qualkinbush Steve Qualkinbush is principle of Q2, LLC. Mr. Qualkinbush has over 35 years of specific expertise in the development process and adding value to real estate for others and his own account. He has initiated and managed development projects totaling in excess of $500,000,000 in construction value. Mr. Qualkinbush has advised Cineplex Odeon, Nobel Learning Communities, LaSalle Bank NA, Save a Lot Grocers, West Suburban Bank, The PrivateBank and other tenants in securing locations in the Chicago market. Mr. Qualkinbush has developed 15 pre-schools for Nobel, 7 banks for LaSalle now Bank of America and a Save A Lot anchored shopping center of approximately 23,000 square feet at 79th and Halsted. Mr. Qualkinbush has also developed retail centers for his own account and owns office buildings totaling 75,000 sf. Prior to this, Mr Qualkinbush was a development officer at Homart Development Company. During this period, he was responsible for initiating or completing the development of a broad range of projects, including among others the 1.5 million square foot Pavilions at Buckland Hills Shopping Center in Manchester, Connecticut, the 500,000 square foot Southeast Financial Center office building in downtown Tampa, Florida and the 350,000 square foot Sears Consumer Finance Center in Riverwoods, Illinois. Early in his career, Mr. Qualkinbush was employed as a planning and urban design consultant at Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum, and Barton Aschman Associates. In these positions, he advised cities and corporations in a wide range of consulting assignments including, downtown plans, neighborhood plans, land plans and corporate facility plans. Mr. Qualkinbush first worked in the government sector in city planning departments in Broward County, Florida, Champaign County, Illinois and Indianapolis, Indiana.
