Gregory Rockett
Biography: Gregory Rockett Professor of Practice Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Hotel & Tourism Management Gregg is a seasoned hospitality professional with over 35 years of experience focusing on international hospitality real estate. Most recently he served as Vice President of Corporate Hotel Development – Americas Region for Hilton with responsibility for negotiating hotel management agreements and franchise agreements for all Hilton brands in North America, the Caribbean and Latin America over a fifteen-year period. Prior to that, he had similar responsibilities within the Development department of Marriott, while based in Madrid and Washington, DC over a nine-year period. His experience also extends to consulting in hospitality and tourism in international markets ranging from the Caribbean to Europe, and focusing on viability of hotel and tourism projects, tourism strategy, real estate development and identification of debt and equity for projects. He has a global perspective of the industry, having lived in several countries and conducted business in multiple languages. Gregg received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston, Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management. He also has a MBA from the University of Maryland, University College. In addition to his role as Professor of Practice at Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Hotel & Tourism Management, he presently serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board at the Conrad N. Hilton College, He also recently completed a four-year term in Product Council Leadership of the Recreation Development Council of the Urban Land Institute.
