John Ragland

Biography: March 2018 "John Ragland has founded Ragland Retail Advisors, LLC to provide retail investment advice to financial service companies and retail operators. John was most recently a Managing Director and Head of U.S. Retail for TH Real Estate which is an operating subsidiary of TIAA. As Sector Head, he oversaw all retail acquisitions, dispositions and asset management. He was a member of the Investment Committee and he also served on the management team of the T-C Super Regional Mall Fund, LP, the T-C Super Regional Mall Venture LLC and the U.S. Cities Retail Fund. He joined TIAA in 2011 as a senior director and head of retail asset management for an equity portfolio of 90 retail properties with over 30 million sf of space in both wholly owned and joint venture structures. This portfolio included regional malls, power centers, lifestyle centers, grocery-anchored centers and urban street locations. Mr. Ragland has over 35 years of commercial real estate experience. Prior to joining TIAA, he was Executive Vice President of Cole Capital Advisors and The Haven Group where he was responsible for acquiring land positions in master-planned communities. He spent 23 years at The Rouse Company, a public real estate investment trust whose retail and land portfolio was valued at $13 billion a the time of its acquisition by General Growth Properties in 2004. Mr. Ragland was a corporate officer at The Rouse Company and held management positions in Retail Leasing, Development and Market Research. Mr. Ragland holds a B.A. in Economics and Public Policy from Duke University. He is a full member of ICSC where he has served on its Research Advisory Council as well as served on the Planning Committee of its NEXUS conference. He is an active member of ULI's Retail and Development Council. "
