John Ryan

Biography: Mr. J. M. Ryan was trained as a professional engineer at Queens University, Kingston, Ontario and joined Green Construction Company of Des Moines Iowa. Green Construction was a large heavy civil contracting firm with projects throughout the United States. Mr. Ryan held the position of project engineer and oversaw government interstate road construction projects in Allen Pa. for 2 years until joining the family owned development firm The Ryan Group (TRG). TRG developed numerous high-rise condominiums, office buildings, commercial properties and residential subdivisions. During his 16 years at TRG Mr. Ryan used his formal training as a civil engineer and as a project manager in developing TRG’s various residential and commercial projects. Mr. Ryan initiated TRG’s first project in Florida in 1990 and subsequently initiated some joint venture projects with a local Florida group in 1995 to further the residential development activity of the company in Florida. Mr. Ryan and the joint venture developed 10 projects together until 2002. Mr Ryan purchased his Florida residence in 1997 and made it his permanent residence in 2000. Mr. Ryan started Metro Development in Feb, 2002 to specialize in production focused entry level subdivisions in Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville.
