Robert Ravelli
Biography: Providing urban planning advisory services in London, UK and Philadelphia PA. Robert Ravelli has a Masters Degree in City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania. He brings over 30 years of international best practice project management experience and thought leadership in the areas of development incentives for regeneration around transport stations, transport oriented development, urban mobility plans, travel demand management, and funding transport improvements. He has been a frequent panelist and speaker on these topics at conferences and universities. He is the author of the “Car-Free” transit guide series for New York and Philadelphia. He has completed master planning projects in both the public and private sectors in the USA, UK, Eastern Europe, Russia, China and Australia. He prepared an intermodal station area master plan for a station on the Moscow Metro. He helped draft the report on the spatial impacts of high speed rail in the UK for the Independent Transport Commission. He was a Deputy Mayor for the City of Philadelphia Mayor’s Office of Transportation where he coordinated with various City, State and Federal agencies to create and implement transport policy, proposed new legislation and implemented service and capital improvements with the local transport authority. He also set up a Business Improvement District in a commercial corridor in Philadelphia. He has participated in several ULI Advisory Panels dealing with developing around transport and transport corridor analysis in Charlotte NC, Broward County FL, Moscow Russia, Atlantic City NJ, Harrisburg PA and Boston MA. He is a member of the ULI UK Infrastructure and Urban Development Council.
