Thaddeus Rutherford

Biography: With more than 23 years in the real estate development market, Thad Rutherford leads the team at SouthStar Communities, guiding the vision of the company and its strategic investments. Thad leads SouthStar and manages a 25 person team of real estate professionals over 3 divisions. SouthStar has turned successful investments into thriving master planned communities for partners and customers alike. Thad has experience across multiple markets and a broad range of deal structures including asset management, deal acquisition and project development. He has worked on mixed use residential developments in Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Georgia. He has an MBA in International Business from the University of Miami and is active with the Urban Land Institute and the Real Estate Council of San Antonio along with being a Community Development Council member with ULI. He lives in Austin with his family including HIS wife and his 2 boys, a cat, and their dogs Winston and Ruthie
