Christopher Stienon
Biography: Christopher Stienon Biography Christopher Stienon is an architect, urban designer, and a city planner with a long history designing and managing projects that contribute to the public realm and the design of cities. Christopher applies his extensive experience as a licensed architect and a certified professional planner combined with his knowledge of the public and private sector forces shaping the modern city to his work with municipalities, planning agencies, private developers, institutions and corporations. He is currently a Principal with the firm of Stantec working with the Urban Places group on the design and regeneration of cities. Since graduating with a Masters of Urban Design and Architecture from Columbia University, he has developed strategic plans and redevelopment proposals for a wide variety of large-scale projects throughout the United States and the world. This work includes a significant role on projects such as the master plan for New York City’s Governors Island, a redevelopment plan for Midtown Rochester, NY, an award winning management plan for the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor, and a Transportation and Land Use study for Lower Manhattan and the World Trade Center. Mr. Stienon has also served as an Adjunct Instructor at Fordham University where he taught a course about Urbanism and the Design of Cities. In addition to being a full member of the Urban Land Institute, Christopher Stienon is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the American Planning Association, the American Institute of Certified Planners, and the Institute for Urban Design. He is also a LEED accredited professional.
