Elena Scott

Biography:
With a true passion for leading public and private development, Elena establishes a vision to guide unique concepts which enhance the communities in which we live and work. A planner and landscape architect, she has provided positive input and inclusive decision making for projects with local towns, cities, counties, developers and stakeholders. She believes that the success of a project is intimately tied to the planning process and the framework that is created and followed throughout the course of design. Elena has a broad range of experience in many scales of planning and design; from municipal master plans, to site specific development plans, to intimate parklets for downtown streetscapes. She excels in collaborative working environments that require strategic thinking, negotiation, and recognition of common goals. Her ability to communicate makes her an effective leader, able to resolve challenges from a technical perspective as well as issues related to community input, balanced alternatives evaluation and creation of realistic solutions for projects. Elena started with Norris Design in 2003 and relocated to Norris Design’s mountain region office in Frisco, Colorado in 2008. Through her leadership and the support of a talented team, she has grown the mountain region office and expanded Norris Design’s experience and expertise in rural and mountain resort communities. Her previous experience in planning and design in Denver combined with success in mountain communities has broadened her expertise, especially related to development in sensitive natural environments, affordable housing, resorts, infill and redevelopment, downtown revitalization and the incorporation of sustainable design practices. Elena understands the importance of amenities and community facilities to residents and visitors, particularly those that bring people to a place or make them want to stay there forever.
