Julie Smith
Biography: Julie Smith, as Chief Administrative Officer and Operating Partner at Bozzuto, spearheads the strategy and oversight for the Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, and Technology functions. Her profound expertise in brand building, talent management, and technology is crucial to the company’s ambitious expansion into new markets and aligning the Bozzuto brand with the dynamic needs of today’s customers. Julie also leads the organization’s corporate philanthropy through RISE by Bozzuto, a program that empowers over 3,300 employees to actively engage in community service projects across the regions where Bozzuto operates, fostering a culture of giving and community involvement. Since joining The Bozzuto Group in 1989, Julie has made significant contributions, including her tenure as President of Bozzuto Management Company until 2016, where she managed a $9 billion portfolio across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, and Southern regions. Her leadership extends to various boards and advisory roles: she is a board member at Apartment List and the non-profit Victory Housing, an Advisory Board Member for the Master in Real Estate Development (MRED) program at the University of Maryland, and serves on the Board of Visitors. Additionally, Julie is the Vice Chair of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) and has held leadership roles within ULI Washington, including past Chair and current Governance Chair. Her dedication to community service is also reflected in her long-standing involvement with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington, where she has been honored and has served as the Youth and Real Estate Event Chair and committee member since 2017.
