Laura Sagues Barr

CBRE
Biography:
Laura Sagues Barr leads a San Francisco-based team with a focus on representation for best-in-class urban retail consulting, new leasing, and renewal / deal restructure. Laura’s current investor clients include Beacon, Blackstone, Brookfield, CIM Group, Grosvenor, Jamestown, Vornado, Hudson Pacific Properties, DWS, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Align and many more. She is consistently tapped to consult on investment sales including 150 Post Street for Federal Realty, Uptown Station for Uber and Ghirardelli Square for RBS. Laura spends a significant amount of her time in Union Square where she brought in The RealReal flagship on behalf of Grosvenor at 253 Post Street, placed Dolce & Gabbana for their Union Square flagship, relocated Shreve & Co. to 150 Post Street on behalf of Federal Realty, structured a deal for Isaia in the long-vacant, historic Frank Lloyd Wright building on Maiden Lane and has a number of additional active projects including the Grosvenor portfolio (currently on 245 and 253 Post Street and 180 Post Street / 210 Grant Avenue). Laura and her team are often brought in to advise on the repositioning of major urban assets – both as consultants and as leasing advisors – and is currently leading several the most iconic and newsworthy projects in the Bay Area. Jamestown Properties hired Laura to run the leasing for Ghirardelli Square, Levi’s Plaza, 116 New Montgomery and 4th Street Berkeley, although Jamestown typically does their leasing in-house. Ghirardelli is aligned with the developer’s specialty projects including Chelsea Market in New York and Ponce City Market in Atlanta. When Laura and her team began, Ghirardelli Square was over 50% vacant; we have since achieved the 100% mark with growing traffic and sales volumes. Blackstone/EOP brought Laura on to advise on Market Center and the Ferry Building. Hudson Pacific Properties recently asked Laura to take over the repositioning of storied Rincon Center. Additionally, FivePoint recently hired Laura to lead the master planning and leasing of over 400,000 SF of retail across the Candlestick and Shipyard projects in San Francisco, one of the largest developments on the West Coast and the largest in San Francisco in decades. Laura is also involved in the leasing for Uber’s highly anticipated Uptown Station on behalf of CIM, where she and her team have made the market in terms of rents. They did the same for CIM at their ground-up One Mission Bay project. Laura recently brought in John Reid Fitness for a 45,000 SF flagship concept in San Francisco – the marketing effort had the added challenge of both tenant and broker needing to sign an NDA before the project could be shared. Laura’s tenants include VF Corp. (The North Face, Vans, Icebreaker and more), Eataly, Lunya, American Giant, Blue Bottle, Allbirds, Barry’s, Citibank and Union Bank, amongst others. Laura is passionate about understanding the retail business, particularly the way that consumers behave and interact both with the built environment and the digital world. She consistently travels to explore new markets for ideas and leverages the tightly knit national and international networks of urban retail professionals for information on which retailers may be moving across the country or even the world before the rest of the San Francisco market is aware. Laura remains active within CBRE’s National Restaurant Practice Group, which consists principally of senior retail professionals in major US and some international markets. Laura earned a Master’s Degree in City Planning and a Certificate in Real Estate Design and Development from the University of Pennsylvania. While finishing her Master’s, she was awarded a merit scholarship from New York Executive Women in Real Estate (WX). Member Directory  Arrow
