Biography:
Margaret B. Sowell President Real Estate Strategies, Inc. Margaret Sowell established offices of Real Estate Strategies, Inc. after gaining more than 25 years of experience with real estate and economic development, as a government official, private developer, and advisor to public agencies and private companies. Ms. Sowell worked with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for fifteen years, and was involved in the development and the administration of numerous housing and community development programs. She was the National Director of HUD's Urban Development Action Grant ("UDAG"), the Vice President for Development with a Wilmington, Delaware development company, and has served as Director of Real Estate Advisory Services in the Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopes)Philadelphia office. Ms. Sowell's memberships have included Urban Land Institute's Board of Trustees, ULI's Commercial and Retail Council, and ULI's Inner City Council. She has served on a number of ULI Public Service Panels. Ms. Sowell holds the Counselor of Real Estate (CRE) designation. She has been an active participant in formulating strategic planning and revitalization strategy initiatives in urban areas, transit-oriented development, and development of affordable and mixed-income housing.
