Michelle Senayah

Biography: Michelle is an urban designer and placemaker with over a decade of experience in Toronto’s city-building sector. As Co-Founder and Executive Director of The Laneway Project, and Co-Founder and Programming Director at Open Streets TO, she has worked since 2013 to bring Toronto’s underused public spaces to life as vibrant, complete places through a series of precedent-setting demonstration projects, research reports and policy initiatives. Undertaken in collaboration with a wide range of public, private and grassroots-level stakeholders, these projects explore whether, why and how to adapt our public realm to ensure a high quality of life for our city’s growing and changing population.
